The E80 Carbon Powerchair is Robooter’s lightest folding powerchair to date and a clear step forward from the earlier E60 and E60 Pro. Built from carbon fibre, it weighs 15.9 kg while still supporting a maximum user weight of 150 kg — a combination we rarely see done this well in a folding chair.
In practical terms, this makes the E80 a strong option for people who need a genuinely portable powerchair without dropping down into a “travel-only” compromise. The folding mechanism is simple and the overall weight means many users or family members can lift it into a car boot. For those who can’t comfortably lift 15.9 kg, the E80 can also be hoisted — and we always recommend checking hoist compatibility with your specific vehicle before purchase.
The E80 comes with a 20 Ah lithium battery as standard. In real-world use, including modest hills and uneven surfaces, we typically advise allowing for around 10–12 miles of usable range rather than relying on headline figures. Batteries can be swapped in around ten seconds, and the included rear bag is large enough to carry a spare. Some customers choose to add a FlightSafe 10 Ah battery, which can be taken on aircraft or cruise ships as it sits below the 300 Wh limit — making it a practical backup for holidays.
Folding is where the E80 differs slightly from many competitors. The backrest needs to be lifted a little higher during unfolding, which is a small trade-off, but the payoff is a noticeably smaller folded footprint. At 71 cm (L) × 62 cm (W) × 44 cm (H), it will fit into the boot of most cars. We find it sits most securely when laid flat or on its side during transport.
Like many modern folding powerchairs, the E80 includes Bluetooth connectivity and a smartphone app that allows you to adjust driving settings and alerts. One example: Robooter chairs play a startup jingle as standard — something we disable on our showroom models because many users prefer a quieter experience. We’re happy to set this up for customers before delivery.
Although designed with travel in mind, the E80 works well as an everyday chair for work or weekends. What stands out to us is how solid and quiet it feels for its weight, and how intuitive the folding mechanism is once you’ve used it a couple of times. The detachable rear bag, complete with carry handle, is a genuinely useful extra rather than a token accessory.
