The Quickie Q700 M is the most powerful and outdoor-capable mid-wheel drive chair in the Q-Series. Compared to the Q500 M it is wider and more substantial, but still benefits from mid-wheel manoeuvrability and on-the-spot turning. It is aimed at users who prioritise outdoor performance, longer distances and demanding terrain, while still needing indoor usability.
Built on the updated Jive M platform, the Q700 M features SpiderTrac™ 2.0 suspension, which provides a firmer, more responsive ride preferred by experienced powerchair users. Independent wheel movement keeps all six wheels in contact with the ground, enabling smooth kerb climbing up to 10 cm and gradients up to 10°, supported by Quickie’s anti-pitch system.
Power comes from high-output 4-pole motors, available up to 8 mph (with 6.5 mph often preferred for torque). 60 Ah batteries are standard, with 80 Ah a common upgrade for extended range approaching 25 miles. An optional Gyro-Tracking System can be added to reduce drift on cambers and make driving more relaxing, particularly with special controls.
Seating, controls and transport
The Q700 M uses SEDEO Pro seating, with the same broad adjustability, 25-stone capacity and compatibility with JAY, Whitmyer and third-party seating. Powered seat lift, up to 50° tilt, shear-reduced recline to lie-flat, and powered leg rests are all available and often recommended for users spending long periods in the chair.
The chair is fully crash-tested and DAHL-ready. Controls start with VR2 but most users opt for the higher-capacity R-Net 120 A system, which supports multiple powered functions, advanced joysticks, Bluetooth/IR connectivity and specialist inputs via LINK-IT.
Visually, the Q700 M has a more imposing presence, with the same clean matt-black chassis and seven interchangeable colour inlays.
Best suited to: experienced users who want maximum mid-wheel drive performance outdoors, without moving to front-wheel drive.
