The Quickie Q300 M is designed first and foremost around access. With a base width from just 52 cm (20.5″) and true mid-wheel drive, it is built to work in environments where space is genuinely limited — narrow doorways, compact lifts, cluttered kitchens, and older buildings where larger powerchairs simply won’t fit.
Unlike some chairs described as “mid-wheel” where the drive wheels are offset, the Q300 M uses true mid-wheel drive, placing the drive wheels directly under the centre of gravity. This allows it to turn on its own length, improves traction, and gives a more predictable feel indoors. Three drive wheel sizes are available (12″, 13″ and 14″), allowing the balance between indoor compactness and outdoor capability to be tailored. The larger wheels marginally increase overall width but improve kerb climbing up to 10 cm and outdoor confidence. All configurations benefit from Quickie’s patented all-wheel independent suspension, with anti-pitch technology keeping the chair stable when stopping on slopes.
Despite its size, the Q300 M is very capable for travel and transport. It is fully crash-tested for use in a wheelchair-adapted vehicle, has strong ramp traction thanks to independently moving castors, and offers an ultra-low seat height of around 16″, which can help when transferring under steering wheels in WAVs. For hoisting, weight starts from approximately 103 kg, and options such as a fold-down back and removable armrests and legrests simplify loading.
Seating and controls
The Q300 M can be specified with SEDEO Lite or SEDEO Pro seating, both highly adjustable and configurable. A wide range of cushions and backrests is available, including the full JAY range and compatible third-party systems for more complex needs. Powered options include tilt, recline, elevating leg rests and a seat riser for eye-level interaction.
Controls are straightforward as standard via VR2, with R-Net available for users needing more powered functions or environmental control. Sunrise’s LINK-IT system allows specialist controls (head, chin, switches) to be added cleanly without compromising aesthetics.
Best suited to: users who need maximum indoor access and compactness, with enough outdoor ability for everyday use.
