The Repose Arden Bariatric Riser Recliner is a top-end pressure management chair designed for clients who require pressure care who weigh up to 50 stone. The Arden Bariatric comes with four individual motor mechanisms enabling the user to combine Tilt In Space (TIS) with Independent Backrest Recline, Independent Leg Rest actuation and the standard Riser movement. This allows for the accommodation of a wide range of positional needs which can be easily altered via the electric handset.
The Arden Bariatric is designed to look aesthetically pleasing - made possible due to a wide range of patterned or plain fabrics, in every colour possible, on the non-support surfaces ie. backs, armrests, wings and sides. Depending on the pressure management requirements the inner fabrics can also be bespoke, although where healthcare fabrics are necessitated the choice is reduced significantly. Importantly though Repose and Cinque Ports Healthcare are keen to demonstrate that Healthcare does not need to be boring or unsightly!
The Arden Bariatric is designed for clients who spend a large amount of time sitting who may be unable to shift their weight independently or who are at increased risk of pressure ulceration or skin breakdown. The Arden can also be equipped for carer control by relocating the controller to the rear quadrant. This enables a care team or carer to manage the clients position and/or assist the client to stand if needed.
The quad-motor function enables each positioning element of the chair to operate independently to each other. The leg raiser is able to lift 25 stone and is particularly useful for managing conditions such as lower leg oedema and fluid retention.
Various different styles of backrest are available with The Arden. The most commonly prescribed is the three-tier waterfall backrest with accommodation made for the gluteal shelf. A full assessment of need will identify which style of backrest is most appropriate.
The Arden Bariatric is suitable for either a healthcare or home environment with all fabrics easily wipeable to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
