The Pride Mobility Apex Alumalite Plus is a lightweight 4-wheeled boot scooter that can be dismantled into 5 separate pieces to fit into car boots, cruise ship lockers and airline holds. The Alumalite Plus has the same great features as the standard Alumalite except it has a much larger 30Ah lithium battery and suspension.
The Alumalite Plus shares the same aluminium frame as the Alumalite which means the maximum weight of the heaviest component remains relatively unchanged. The documented overall weight increase is due to the additional weight of the larger battery and battery box. Also available in three different colours - black, blue or red - the Alumalite Plus is designed for the user looking to cover greater mileage and in greater comfort.
The Apex Alumalite Plus is visually very similar to the standard Pride GoGo car transportable scooters which revolutionised the scooter industry a number of years ago. Designed to be taken apart for ease of storage, travel, and transportation, boot scooters have always had one problem - weight. Whether it was the battery pack containing original AGM Lead Acid batteries or the motor and gearbox assembly the component weights were still too heavy for many to lift easily into a vehicle. The Alumalite Plus has been redesigned to reduce the weights of each component and especially the battery pack, making the whole process quicker and safer.
The Alumalite has 30Ah Lithium batteries providing a real world range of approximately 18 miles on a full charge and comes with an intelligent charger. Running on 8" solid tyres the Alumalite, like most other boot scooters, does not have a large ground clearance and care should be taken when crossing over raised pavements or non-dropped kerbs.
With a maximum user weight of 136kg (21 stone) the Alumalite is strong and robust but please note the maximum range available will decrease for heavier users or if the machine is being used on steep inclines.
