The Karma Ergo Lite is the lightest wheelchair we supply in the low to medium active wheelchair class. (Our overall lightest wheelchair is less than 4kg, but that's made from Carbon and costs over £4000 and is designed for active wheelchair users who need a bespoke chair).
The Karma Ergo Lite is almost indistinguishable from its sister chair the Karma Ergo Lite 2. The only difference is that the front leg hangers are fixed, as opposed to being removable like on the Ergo Lite 2. This makes the chair over 10% lighter, but it is slightly longer when stored as you cannot remove the legrests. Other than the legrests, the Ergo Lite is just as stylish, functional and comfortable as the Ergo Lite 2.
Available in a Transit version only the Ergo Lite comes in two standard seat widths of 16" or 18". Getting the seat width correct is important - come in and see us and we'll get your measurements and find the best fit for you.
Ideal for keeping in the boot of your car the Ergo Lite has a folding backrest (to half height) and the whole wheelchair also folds in half.
One of the best features of this wheelchair is that it comes equipped with attendant brakes which act as a braking aid and 'handbrake' when stopped on hills. Alongside attendant brakes the chair has user brakes which can be applied with ease using the push-to-lock brake handles.
Fixed armrests won't be suitable for everyone but the benefit of this style is that they are lighter than the removable or height adjustable variants. If you need removable armrests please get in touch and we'll happily show you similar models.
